April Admin Message
Dear Parents/Guardians,
I would like to thank everyone for their support as we conclude “survey season.” The feedback we receive is extremely valuable as we are always looking to improve and provide the best opportunity for students. Thank you to everyone who participated, it is a privilege to be part of such a wonderful community.
There were many exciting events in March. Our Kindergarten students had the opportunity to enjoy some fun on the ice with skating sessions on March 4th, 5th, 6th & 7th. Thank you to the Agriplex for partnering with us to provide this opportunity.
Students in grades 1 through 3 got a chance to dive into a swimming program at the Beaumont Recreation Center. Swimming is not only a valuable life skill but also a great way for our students to stay active and healthy. It was a great way to get ready for any upcoming Spring Break excursions.
Our Grade 6 students worked extremely hard on their performances for the annual Airbands event and brought the house down at our school assembly on March 13th. It was an amazing entertaining showcase of their creativity and talent. I was told when I first arrived at NSES Airbands were a big deal, so naturally I had high expectations, but I was blown away by the effort, talent, and joy demonstrated by the students through the video montages, costumes and choreography. Well done to everyone who was involved.
I hope everyone has a fantastic Spring Break and I look forward to seeing everyone in April as we enter the last few months of the school year.
Warm regards,
Rob Froland

Please stop by to take a look at all the terrific new books! We ask that parents accompany their children when shopping or browsing during the evenings. Thank you once again for supporting this library fundraiser. Your purchases help us bring many new books to our library!
Kindergarten
Kindergarten is building a milk jug Igloo and would love donations of milk jugs that have been cleaned with soap and not crushed. Anyone who would be willing to donate would be greatly appreciated!
If you know someone with a Kindergarten aged child, please remind them that our 24-25 Kinder Registration is OPEN!
Hour Zero Program
Black Gold School Division uses the Hour Zero School Emergency Program to prepare for and respond to emergencies. A detailed summary of the program can be located in the BGDS Emergency Program Brochure.
It is important that staff and students keep our training up-to-date in order for our emergency response to be effective. As such, we will be conducting a number of drills throughout the year. This month, staff and students will engage in Evacuation drills. Students will be notified on the morning announcements of the drill and staff will work with their classes in advance to ensure they are aware of the procedure and also to reduce stress around the event. Please contact the office if you have any questions about our emergency response drills.
NSES Lost & Found
Lost & found items are located in the office. Please remind your children to check it regularly and if you are in the school, remember to have a look. We will endeavor to send emails with the items to have you check them. Periodically, items not claimed will be donated.
NSES Milk Program
Milk cards are available for purchase on your child’s PowerSchool account. You are also welcome to send cash or cheques to the school office. Milk costs $1 per milk. Milk cards are available in $10 and $20.
