Froland, R.

Principal's Message - December

As we welcome December, our school is filled with excitement, activity, and plenty of winter spirit. With colder temperatures now settling in, we kindly remind families to ensure students are dressed for the weather each day. Warm coats, hats, mittens, and proper footwear help keep everyone comfortable and ready for outdoor play and learning.

One of the highlights of the season is fast approaching—our annual Christmas Concert. Students and staff have been working hard, and we cannot wait to share their wonderful performances with you. It’s always a special opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year.”

We are also thrilled to share that our Grade 4, 5, and 6 students will be heading out on a skiing trip this month. This is an exciting chance for many to try something new, build confidence, and enjoy the beautiful winter outdoors.

December is a busy and festive month, and we are grateful for the ongoing support of our families. We wish everyone a joyful and safe start to the winter season.

Warm regards,
Rob Froland

SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR

Thank you to all the parents, guardians, and students that came to shop at the book fair! It has been a huge success, and I am again overwhelmed by the generosity of our wonderful school community! The GRAND total came to $5781.94, which allows us an incredible $2312.78 worth of new books for the library! Congratulations to Ronan K. and Ms. Pylypiuk who each won $25 worth of books in the Family Event Door Prize Draw. We also wish to congratulate all the students that won one of the display posters as a door prize

Thank you, parents, students, and teachers for generously supporting this library fundraiser.

Sincerely, Mrs. Noble

Best Christmas Pageant Ever

This year the NSES Christmas Concert will be on December 17, 2025. A message will be sent out for families to reserve their seats in the near future.

Date: Wednesday, December 17, 2025
Afternoon Performance: 1:00pm (No ticket required); Doors open at 12:45pm
Evening Performance: 7:00pm (Reserved seats required); Doors at 6:30pm
Dress Rehearsal: morning of that same day

Please have your child/children dressed in their concert best or assigned costumes for morning, afternoon, and evening performances so that we can ensure three polished performances.

The afternoon concert is typically not as crowded so if possible, please think about attending that performance. No reserved seats are required for the afternoon performance.

A reserved seat is needed to attend the evening performance. Additional reserved seats for the evening performance must be requested on the form on PowerSchool. Each family will be guaranteed 3 tickets for the evening performance. Those requiring more tickets will be put on a waiting list. Log onto your oldest/only child's PowerSchool account under Student Fees & Forms and complete 2025 Christmas Concert Seat Reservation form the to get on the wait list. The reserved seat form is NOW on PowerSchool. On the same form, you can request up to 5 more tickets on a first come first serve basis (there is no guarantee that we can accommodate all requests). This request form will close on Dec 12/25.

Please do not bring your children to school before 6:30pm for the evening performance. The outside doors will be LOCKED until 6:30pm. For everyone’s safety we ask that all students be dropped off and picked up at their classrooms.

As we did last year, you can donate to the silver collection online via your PowerSchool account. This option will be available all year long. For your convenience, we will also have a silver collection at the door. All proceeds from the silver collection are to support and enhance NSES’s music program including costumes, musical instruments, musicals, hand bell music, and so much more!

NSES: Christmas Concert Seat Reservation is now on PowerSchool. Please RSVP by Friday, Dec 12.

Nutrition Program

The Muffin Days program will be starting again this fall. To make some gluten aware & dairy free, we will use oat flour in place of wheat flour and water in place of milk. The office has reached out to contact all known food sensitivities. If you didn't receive a message, please contact the office directly.

NSES always has fresh fruit & veggies available for student snacks.

Please make sure your child’s allergy/medical information is up to date at all times. Also, if you have any concerns, please contact the office.

Recipes that are used will be posted here for you to review.

Milk Program

NSES offers white and chocolate milk for students at lunchtime. Milk cards are available for purchase on your child’s PowerSchool account. You are also welcome to send cash to the office. As costs have increased, we have to adjust the price of milk this year. There are 10 for $15.00 cards and 20 for $30 cards available to buy.

NSES Lost & Found

Lost & found items are located just outside the office. Please remind your children to check it regularly, and if you are at school, remember to have a look. All items not claimed will be donated periodically throughout the school year.

Li’l Buckaroo Design – Spirit Wear

We are fortunate to have an amazing local business that provides NSES Sabre Spirit Wear to our school community. If you want to add to your collection, check out the website & see all the fabulous designs.
